Las Tres Marias Story: The enduring beauty of nature
Share
The history of Tres Marias Farm began with a simple yet profound dream: to have a piece of land in the south of Chile, a place to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty—a true gift from God. What started as a retreat soon blossomed into something greater, guided by a passion for produce and a commitment to quality.
It was my daughter, María José (@floresmariagana), who first planted the seed of this venture. She asked me to grow peony rhizomes for cutting flowers, intended for local sale. We started small, with just 300 plants, but within a year, I realized the farm’s potential to scale to export levels. With that vision, we expanded to 1.25 hectares. The following year, we added 2 more hectares, and this year, we have ordered another hectare to introduce late-harvest peonies. The best part is that María José is deeply involved in every step of this journey.
At Tres Marías Farm, we believe in growing with patience and purpose. We have embraced the wisdom of experienced growers while also learning through hands-on experience in the field—observing, experimenting, and sharing knowledge with other producers. This balance of tradition and innovation has been key to our success.
Beyond our dedication to flowers, we have built a meaningful relationship with the women of the nearest town. During the 2024 spring, which marked our first harvest, we had the joy of working alongside them. As they shared with us, they were grateful for the opportunity to work with flowers at a time when jobs are scarce in the region. Their presence enriched our harvest season, reinforcing our belief that Tres Marías Farm is not just about cultivating flowers—it’s about cultivating community.
Today, Las Tres Marías Farm stands as a symbol of resilience, passion, and the enduring beauty of nature. From a potato field to a flourishing flower farm, our story continues to unfold, driven by a love for the land and the people who help bring its beauty to life.
