Ensuring Quality: Our Mission and Best Practices for Peonies

Our Mission: Flowers Near to Perfection

At Fundo Tres Marías, our commitment is to cultivate exceptional flowers with a deep respect for quality, people, and nature. We strive to:

- Work with highly experienced agricultural professionals.
- Implement the best farming practices to ensure sustainable and ethical flower production.
- Care for our team, fostering a workplace where collaboration, skill, and dedication thrive.
- Deliver flowers that reflect the highest standards of quality—each box opened should convey our passion, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.

Our goal is simple: every stem we produce should embody beauty, precision, and excellence.

Caring for Your Cut Peonies

To preserve the quality of your peonies and ensure they perform beautifully, follow these key handling and storage guidelines.

Step 1: Inspect the Box Before Opening
Before opening your shipment, carefully examine the condition of the box. This is important for both quality assurance and potential insurance claims.

Check for external damage: Look for crushed corners, collapsed boxes, missing seals, or broken straps.
- Document any issues: If you find damage, take clear photos and set the box aside for an insurance claim. Be sure to check your deductible amount.

Step 2: Inspect the Flowers Inside
Once you open the box, assess the flowers carefully:

Examine the buds: Check that they are firm and uniform, with no signs of mold, rot, or dehydration.
- Count the stems: Ensure the correct quantity has been delivered.
- Note any concerns: If there are quality issues, document them immediately for follow-up.

Step 3: Preparing Peonies for Use
Peonies arrive in a dormant state and require proper hydration to bloom beautifully. Follow these steps based on your intended use.

For Immediate Use (Prompt Blooming)
If you need your peonies to open quickly:
1. Trim the stems: Cut the bottom of each stem at a diagonal. This increases the surface area for water absorption.
2. Use a hydrating solution: Place stems in clean water with Chrysal Professional 2 (10cc per liter of water) to speed up hydration and blooming.
3. Store in a cool, well-lit area: Avoid direct sunlight, but ensure good air circulation to encourage flower opening.

For Short-Term Storage (Up to 5 Days)
If you need to store peonies before use:
- Keep them in the box with ventilation holes clear. This maintains freshness while minimizing exposure to humidity.
- Alternatively, store in buckets of water in a cool room (2–4°C) if longer hydration is needed.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your peonies remain fresh, vibrant, and of the highest quality—ready to create breathtaking floral designs.

At Fundo Tres Marías, every bloom reflects our dedication to excellence. We believe that quality is not just about appearance—it’s about consistency, care, and the passion behind every flower we grow. When you open a box from our farm, you’re not just receiving flowers—you’re receiving a piece of our commitment to perfection.
